International Women’s Day at EAE.

Women play a pivotal role in shaping the world we live in. Their contributions are invaluable, and at Empowering Africans through Education initiative, we recognize the importance of prioritizing women in all aspects of our work. From selecting facilitators to staff members and beneficiaries, women are always at the forefront of our initiatives. Our organization is female-coled, and at the management level, we boast a strong female representation with up to three women in leadership positions. Even our volunteers are predominantly female, reflecting our commitment to empowering women in our communities.

In our recent program, the BeMINT project, which focuses on providing IT training to high school students, women are not only participants but also facilitators. In fact, out of the four facilitators involved in the project, half of them are female. This gender-balanced approach underscores our dedication to promoting gender equality and increasing women’s participation in STEM fields.

Through our actions, we go beyond mere words and actively support and encourage women to pursue careers in STEM. In the BeMINT program, we are proud to say that the first and second batches had a higher percentage of female beneficiaries than male. Even in subsequent batches, women continue to maintain a significant representation, with over 35% participation.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we are proud to highlight the contributions of women in our organization and beyond. To commemorate this special day, our BeMINT manager, Miss Lucy Chioma Aniagolu, spearheaded a video project alongside beneficiaries of the program. Together, they shared their stories, experiences, and aspirations, inspiring young women all over the world to pursue their dreams and make a difference.

At Empowering Africans through Education initiative, we firmly believe that women have the power to change the world. By providing them with opportunities for education, training, and leadership development, we are empowering them to become catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond. Together, let’s celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere, today and every day.
