Be-MINT 2.0 Launch: Highlights from an Impactful First Week

Be-MINT 2.0 builds upon the foundation of the first cohort, offering an enhanced training and internship experience designed to equip youths with in-demand digital, soft, and vocational skills. This second edition is focused on expanding opportunities, deepening impact, and providing more hands-on experience for participants.

The program is made possible through the generous support of our funders, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Siemens Stiftung, and in collaboration with our esteemed partners, including the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria) and Engagement Global gGmbH. Their commitment to youth empowerment and skill development has been instrumental in making Be-MINT 2.0 a reality.

Highlights from an Impactful First Week

The day began with an exciting orientation and introduction session, where students were welcomed into the Be-MINT community. They were introduced to the program structure, expectations, and the wealth of opportunities available to them throughout the training. To set the stage for inspiration, the Be-MINT Alumni Leadership Council president shared personal insights and experiences, motivating students to make the most of their journey.

Following the orientation, the students took a critical step toward financial literacy with a special visit from the Kuda App team. Understanding financial management is a vital life skill, and this session equipped students with practical knowledge by helping them set up their accounts. This hands-on experience reinforced the importance of smart money habits right from the start.

With their financial foundation in place, students shifted their focus to personal and career growth. In an insightful session led by Miss Purity Okoro, they explored goal-setting techniques that would not only guide them through Be-MINT but also shape their long-term success. The session emphasized prioritization, time management, and strategic planning—essential skills for staying on track and maximizing opportunities.

Building on the importance of financial literacy, the next session, led by Mrs. Olubunmi Ajayi, provided a deep dive into budgeting, saving, and smart investing. Students learned how to make informed financial decisions, spot fraud and scams, and develop a strong financial mindset. The interactive session left them feeling more confident about managing their money wisely.

Success in the workplace requires more than just technical skills—it demands professionalism. Transitioning from financial empowerment to career readiness, students engaged in an eye-opening session with Sogo Israel and Chizomam Nwogbe from Poise Nigeria. They explored workplace etiquette, digital communication best practices, and the art of crafting professional emails that leave a lasting impression.

With a solid foundation in financial literacy and professionalism, the focus shifted to leadership and time management—two critical elements of personal and career success. Dr. Olusoji Adewunmi led an engaging session on leadership styles, teamwork, and productivity. Students gained practical insights on how to lead effectively, work collaboratively, and maximize their time for optimal results.

And this is just the beginning! Over the coming weeks, students will continue sharpening their skills, connecting with mentors, and gaining the confidence to tackle new challenges head-on. Stay tuned for more updates as they put their learning into action!
